
Robert L. Zigler, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 8, 2016. He was born on October 10, 1923 in Bicknell, Indiana to Austin and Mabel (Wikle) Zigler. Bob served in the United States Army and is a World War II Veteran. He was a machine operator for 40 years. Bob had a passion for watching sports, enjoyed gardening, and listened to jazz and big-band music. Bob accepted Christ as his Savior and he loved his family very much. And we celebrate his life and we are so happy for him to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Joy D. (Mikiska) Zigler; children David (Vivian) Zigler, Elizabeth (Kenny) Lunsford, and Anna Wilson; grandchildren David C. (Laura) Zigler, Trisha Zigler Hinson, Jason (Beth) Lunsford, John Zigler, Sarah Wilson, Matthew Wilson, and Mark Wilson; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Austin and Mabel (Wikle) Zigler and his siblings Herschel Floyd Zigler, Harry Zigler, Clay Zigler, Betty Compton, and Iva Jean Zigler.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 9:00 am at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be held the same day beginning at 8:30 am and continuing until the time of service. Burial will follow at 11:00 am Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
